CareerOne Stop

Explore careers, salaries, education requirements, job outlooks, training opportunities, job-search strategies, resumes, interviews, and more through CareerOneStop, a comprehensive resource sponsored by the U.S. Department of Labor.  Because the Department of Labor isn't trying to sell you a degree, course, certification, or particular career, I find this site to be an especially valuable place to start when you want reliable information to help you make your own career decisions.

One of the advantages of CareerOneStop is the breadth and objectivity of its information. Rather than relying on the experience of one company, recruiter, or career expert, it draws on extensive government labor-market data collected across the United States. Its sources include the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, O*NET, state labor-market information offices, and other government data sources. That means you can research hundreds of occupations and compare actual wage data, projected employment growth, education and training requirements, skills, and employment opportunities nationally or in individual states.
